This T features the Marsha P Johnson Institute logo on the front, Rebel Roots on the sleeve, and the back text reads

“MARSHA P JOHNSON WAS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE STONEWALL RIOTS IN 1969. AS A BLACK TRANSGENDER WOMEN IN NEW YORK CITY IN THE 60’S SHE HAD TO FIGHT TO CLAIM HER SPACE NOT ONLY IN GENERAL SOCIETY BUT ALSO IN “LGBTQ” SPACES. HER PERSISTENCE IN DEMANDING ADMITTANCE INTO THE STONEWALL INN, A BAR THAT ORIGINALLY ONLY SERVED GAY MEN, EVENTUALLY RESULTED IN THE BAR ALLOWING WOMEN AND DRAG QUEENS. HER ADVOCACY AND PERSEVERANCE WAS KINDLING TO THE STONEWALL RIOTS MAKING MARSHA P JOHNSON A VANGUARD FOR LGBTQ RIGHTS. OUR MODERN PRIDE CELEBRATION WAS ROOTED IN REBELLION.”
